Ensuring Tomorrow Minimize

While all of the buildings on camp's property are owned, the land itself is leased from the U.S.D.A. Forest Service.  We never know if the government may someday cancel or refuse to renew our lease, forcing us to leave the property.

The Forest Service does not sell land outright.  In order to acquire the land it is necessary to conduct a "land exchange" with the Forest Service.  To do this, we would acquire other privately-owned land that the Forest Service desires to have and then trade it for ownership of the land we now occupy.  The lands to be exchanged must be of equal value, determined to serve the public interest, and preferably located within the same forest.

For over 15 years Camp's board of directors has considered implementing a land exchange in order to acquire the land we have leased for almost 50 years!  We now have found an organization that will help us find land and negotiate the exchange.  We just need to be ready with the funds to purchase the land.

The Time Is Now!   Minimize

In the past, the Forest Service has shown little to no interest in pursuing a land exchange with Camp Elim because we were too small to be worth their time and investment.  However, God has raised up other entities that are also pursuing land exchanges at this same time.  By combining our resources, our costs are lower and the Forest Service now believes it may be in the public's best interest to pursue this project
