Guest Groups

When Camp is not being used for one of our many programs, we make the facilities available to churches, schools, and non-profit organizations to conduct their own programs. Consistently, our guests go away extremely satisfied with their camp experience. Our desire is to make your camp, retreat, or outdoor education program go as smoothly as possible, and we will do our best to be attentive to your every need.

You plan the program and we'll provide the meals and housekeeping to keep things running smoothly. If you choose to use some of our specialized equipment like the ropes course, challenge course, or climbing wall, we'll provide the staff to oversee the guests' safety.

While you're here, Camp is yours. In fact, we generally offer exclusive use for groups of 50 or more that are the first to reserve a week or weekend. While our facilities are primarily geared for youth, we serve many happy groups of adults and families. Our facilities include private, semi-private (shared bathroom), and dormitory style housing. Meals are served family-style or plated, depending on the season and size of the group.

To receive a copy of our Guest Group Packet email our office or call (719) 687-2030.  We'll be happy to answer any questions you might have and get a packet off to you right away.

School Groups

Our program and outdoor education team are delighted to work with school groups offering them an "outdoor classroom" experience. Outdoor education involves a living laboratory. It is an extension of the classroom where students can experience firsthand learning through action, exploration, and discovery. Students learn from real-life problems and observations, while at the same time they have profound opportunities for interpersonal and social development. In the process of living together in a 24-hour setting, students also develop skills in leadership, teamwork, decision-making, cooperation, and communication.

Our staff will work with your teachers and parents to create a safe environment that will challenge and stretch them to explore new and challenging experiences. Our trained staff members will oversee the ropes course, challenge course, and climbing wall. In addition to being well-trained on the outdoor elements, our staff are all certified in Emergency Response First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer. A nurse is often available by request if the school cannot supply one.

We can accommodate up to 150 students at a time.  School groups are asked to bring a minimum of one adult teacher, parent, or chaperone for every 10 students. Adults may be asked to help with food service before, during, and after each meal. For mid-week (Mon-Fri) school groups, the first adult for every 10 students may come at no additional charge.

For more information about school groups email our office or call (719) 687-2030.

Church Groups

Nestled in the pines of Pike National Forest, Camp Elim offers a retreat environment that will enhance your program in every way. Someone has said that "Camp is where life makes up its mind." Let us assist you in directing your ministry group down the path that leads to the richness of the abundant life promised to those who know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

"We are so grateful for the part Camp Elim has played in the young lives of the children of First Presbyterian Church. For many years now we have chosen Camp Elim for our children's camps and retreats. God's love is evident in every phase of their camping program. We see the Holy Spirit working through their committed leadership, capable staff, excellent facilities, delicious meals, cooperative attitude, and accommodating spirit."

Those words of encouragement are from the former Children's Music Minister at First Presbyterian Church in Colorado Springs. We have enjoyed a strong partnership in ministry for over 20 years!

It is our privilege to partner with church groups from around the state by hosting retreats and conferences for children, teens, families, and adults. We'll provide the meals and housekeeping while you provide the program and teaching. While our facilities are primarily geared for youth, we also have an assortment of private and semi-private (shared bathroom) accommodations available. Campers bring their own bedding (sleeping bag or sheets/blanket, pillow and towels) or for a nominal charge we can provide them for all but our dormitory rooms.

Exclusive use of Camp's facilities is offered to groups of 50 or more that are the first to book their retreat. The deposit for weekend groups is $500 and for week-long camps the deposit is $1000. Groups may be asked to bring volunteers to help with food service who will be on duty about one hour before, during, and after each meal.

Groups are expected to adhere to the policies set forth in our Retreat Guidelines. A copy of our guest group packet can be requested by emailing our office or calling (719) 687-2030. We are happy to assist youth groups coming for more than 72 hours in meeting the licensing standards set by the Colorado Department of Human Services.
