A Year Holy to the Lord
The Gap Year at Camp Elim is for high school graduates (or equivalent) who are looking to experience a year of Growth and Preparation. Growing in faith as they serve the Lord and abide in Him. Preparing themselves for what's ahead.
Psalm 37:3 - "Trust in the Lord and do good;
Dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness."
Holy to the Lord
Holy means separate or dedicated to the Lord. Scripture teaches us to be faithful to God in the little things, and Holy as He is Holy, even when we are unclear about the big decisions of life, we press on toward the prize. If you are a high school graduate or college student unsure of the big picture God has for your life, and you’re thinking about taking a break from school, we are thrilled to introduce the Gap Year at Camp Elim! Give the year to the Lord at Camp.
We have training in ministry, in-depth Bible study, personal mentoring, and local church outreach in the Colorado Front Range area as you seek Him. Up to eight students will be living and working together with the year-round staff at Camp from August to August. We are also excited to be partnering with a Christian college to offer college courses as part of the 2020 Gap Year Program!
GAP Year 2020-2021
The next Gap Year starts Fall 2020. Gap Year has a rolling admission; priority will be shown to applicants who meet the deadlines posted, but applications will continue to be accepted throughout the year. To be considered for the coming year outside the application period, please email email@example.com.
The cost for the 2020-2021 GAP Year program is $4200, which covers program tuition, books, room and board, travel expenses for college visits and a Christian camping conference, and tuition for a required college course through Emmaus Bible College. Each participant is eligible for a $1000 scholarship ($500/semester). The first half of tuition is due August 1, and the remainder is due December 1. Students will also have the opportunity to take additional college courses through Emmaus Bible College for an additional fee if desired.
GAP Year participants will be offered work-study opportunity during their time at Camp Elim, and will be able to earn funds to put towards future plans by serving as part-time staff.
Students 18-22 years old need to have gone through staff training and worked at least one week at Camp Elim sometime in the past. A student can be accepted into Gap Year if they are scheduled to complete this prerequisite the summer before starting Gap Year but this acceptance will be evaluated on a case by case basis.
